Abstract: Many enterprises found it challenging to scale AI solutions beyond pilots. The root cause of the challenges stems from the paradigm shift in how AI systems are built and work from the traditional systems. There are big gaps between AI algorithm frameworks on the market and enterprise-scale AI systems; and between skill requirements and practice in developing AI systems and enterprise solutions. Talents that can bridge the gap are scarce. Wenju is a project at Futurewei that tackles such challenges. It is a platform that helps enterprises of any size to quickly and cost-effectively build end-to-end AI solutions in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The platform adds new architectural layers on top of existing technology stacks to address key requirements and concerns of enterprise AI systems and provides components and new building blocks that empower the development and operations team. It helps to reduce the skills required to build AI solutions while improving productivity by enabling end-to-end automation.
