Abstract: Pythagoras was wrong. Yes, you read it correctly. Believe it or not, he was not right about everything. In machine learning, the automation of human decision making -also known as pair matching- does not follow the famous premise “the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.
In this talk, Loubna will discuss the use of non-metric and euclidean distances to understand data patterns in machine learning algorithms. Using several real life examples, she will illustrate how expert decision making doesn’t rely on Pythagoras triangular inequality.
Bio: Dr Loubna Bouarfa is a machine learning scientist turned entrepreneur.
She is the founder and CEO of OKRA Technologies - an artificial intelligence data analytics company for healthcare.
