GraphML: Hands-on Next-level Machine Learning

Abstract: 

This workshop focuses on why Graphs are currently one of the biggest trends in Machine Learning. While many traditional techniques focus on isolated entities, neglecting the context, GraphML explicitly considers the context and relationships between different data items, leading to more precise and faster insights.

In this workshop, we will provide a hands-on introduction to Graph Machine Learning, including topics such as Graph Embeddings, Graph Neural Networks, and different applications of Graph Machine Learning. In particular, we will cover the following topics:
- The value of Graph in an interconnected world 
- Graph Machine Learning techniques
- End-to-end Graph Machine Learning

Background Knowledge:

The workshop is hands-on, leveraging Jupyter notebooks, so there is no need to pre-install software and there are no prerequisites.

Bio: 

Anthony Mahanna joined the ML team at ArangoDB in July of 2023 as a Software Engineerto help build ArangoDB’s space in the world of GraphML and GraphLLMs. He discovered ArangoDB in 2021 while working on a personal project, which set him on the internship-to-full-time path at ArangoDB. Anthony holds a BSc Hons in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada.

Arthur Keen, Ph.D. is a Graph evangelist with more than 20 years of experience in Graph AI. His expertise spans Graph Machine Learning, graph analytics, and ontology. Arthur has developed knowledge graph-based solutions in intelligence, cyber, financial services, logistics, retail, and energy. He has led 3 product teams from concept to GA and first customers. He has been awarded 7 patents and has held leadership roles including CTO, Chief Scientist, and VP of Engineering. He has a Computer Science/Industrial Engineering Ph.D. and has been invited to speak at conferences including Data Day TX, NoSQL Now, SemTech, and SXSW.
