Abstract: 

Data science as a field has blossomed recently, with lots of new approaches, new tools and new technologies. The pace of innovation has been so rapid, in fact, that it's become overwhelming for companies new to data science to understand where to begin. In this session we will take you through the fundamentals of data science platforms, highlight common use cases by industry, and offer a path forward on how to get started, all through the lens of IBM's deep expertise in enterprise needs.

Bio: 

Luis is currently the senior offering manager for IBM’s Data Science Experience (DSx), IBM’s award-winning platform that helps data scientists be better data scientists by offering them the tools, content and collaboration to become more productive. His vision for the product is shaped by his past life as a VP, Analytics for a large cable company, as a McKinsey consultant, and as a tech entrepreneur and engineer in Silicon Valley. He has an MBA and an BSEE from Stanford University.
