Most data scientists struggle with narrowing down their amazing findings into succinct and impactful communications that audiences can understand and want to engage with. This talk will teach you research-driven best practices to help you turn your incredible insights into communications with impact. You will learn specific processes to follow to turn numbers into narrative, including how to focus your message, outline and story, and deliver visuals that take advantage of how humans process visual experiences. You will walk away with tangible tidbits that you can start using immediately.
Bio: Bill is an information designer, helping clients turn their data into compelling visual and often interactive experiences. Project and workshop clients include the World Bank, United Nations, International Monetary Fund, Starbucks, American Express, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Facebook, and the City of Boston. He is the founder of Beehive Media, a Boston-based data visualization and information design consultancy.
