Abstract: Real-Time Analytics is one of the new trends in the streaming space, but it can be hard to keep track of everything, especially as it seems like new products are being released every week. In this workshop we'll help you understand the field and build out a real-time analytics app for a pizza delivery service.
Session Outline:
Real-Time Analytics is one of the new trends in the streaming space, but it can be hard to keep track of everything, especially as it seems like new products are being released every week.
We'll start off this session with a presentation that will give you a map to understand the space. This map will hopefully make it easier to understand where current and new tools fit into the space.
After this introduction we'll spend the majority of the session in a hands-on tutorial, learning how to build a real-time analytics application for All About That Dough, an imaginary pizza delivery service. AATD have been struggling to keep track of what's going with their business and are experiencing declining customer satisfaction. We've been hired as consultants to help them solve these problems.
With help from Apache Kafka, Apache Pinot, RisingWave, Streamlit, and friends, we'll help them build a real-time dashboard for the operators of the online service and a real-time tracking service for their users.
