Accelerating the Delivery of Vision AI


With only 13% of data science projects ever making it into production, transforming computer vision projects from costly experiments to drivers of real business value is a key challenge organizations face today. In order to accelerate the delivery of vision AI, innovation leaders must learn to expand the perimeter of AI development by empowering subject matter experts and those closest to the problem to directly contribute alongside data science teams to the success of AI projects. This talk reflects on CrowdAI’s experience working with leading government and commercial partners and how we believe the modern enterprise can rapidly scale computer vision models that are sensitive to granular, pixel-level quality, safety, and operational issues.


Devaki Raj is CEO and Co-Founder of CrowdAI. She began her career at Google (Maps, Energy and [X] teams) where she helped optimize renewable energy allocation in sub-Saharan Africa. In 2021, Devaki was recognized as part of Inc. Magazine’s Female Founders 100 alongside leaders like Stacey Abrams. Previously, she was recognized as one of Inc and Forbes Magazine’s 30 under 30. Devaki’s expertise in computer vision is highly sought after, she has spoken at leading technology forums such as the NVIDIA GTC, McKinsey i2i, and Forbes CIO summit; prominent think tanks such as the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS); and executive US Government panels such as the White House Executive Forum for Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford where she completed her undergraduate and graduate education in Statistics as a Henry David Thoreau Foundation Scholar.
